April 8, 2008 - DREXEL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF MEDICINE ANNOUNCES 100th SINGLE PORT ACCESS (SPA™) SURGERY

Drexel University College of Medicine has announced that physicians here have now completed 100 cases of Single Port Access (SPA™) surgery, a minimally invasive procedure that leaves patients with a hidden scar. The SPA technique was developed by Paul G. Curcillo II, M.D., FACS, associate professor and vice chair of the Department of Surgery and director of robotic and minimally invasive surgery, and Stephanie A. King, M.D., FACOG, associate professor and chief of gynecologic oncology.

March 14, 2008 - Dr. Barbara Schindler Appointed William Maul Measey Chair in Medical Education

Drexel University College of Medicine has announced that Barbara Schindler, M.D., professor of psychiatry and pediatrics, and vice dean for educational and academic affairs, has been appointed to the William Maul Measey Chair in Medical Education. The Measey Chair was established through the generosity of the Benjamin & Mary Siddons Measey Foundation. It is intended that the chair be dedicated to the development, implementation, and dissemination of academic innovations.
