Meet and greet your classmates while catching up on the last fifty years at our opening event, sponsored and hosted by the College of Medicine Alumni Association. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres elegantly served in the Dean’s Lobby at Queen Lane. Round trip shuttle transportation will be provided, but you must register for this service.

A Private Docent-led Tour of the Barnes Foundation
9:30 a.m.; 300 North Latches Lane, Merion Station, PA
The Barnes Foundation is home to one of the world's largest collections of impressionist, post-impressionist and early modern paintings, with extensive holdings by Picasso, Matisse, Cézanne, Renoir and Modigliani. This exclusive special educational opportunity has been planned for you when the gallery is closed to the public. It involves a docent-led, intimate, private tour of the gallery, which lasts one-and-a-half to two hours. You will have the opportunity to view the collection in great detail, to engage in discussion, and to learn more about Dr. Barnes and his collection. Round-trip shuttle transportation will be provided from one center city location – The Union League of Philadelphia, 140 South Broad Street – but you must register for the service.

College of Medicine Commencement
8:00 a.m.; the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 260 South Broad Street, Philadelphia
Members of the 50 year reunion class are invited to robe and process with the graduating class and faculty. The Class of 1958 will be seated in a special place of honor. Any members of the class not wishing to participate in the processions will be given VIP seating at the ceremony. Due to the size of the Class of 2008 there is a limit of 2 VIP Commencement tickets per alum.
50th Reunion Celebration Luncheon
11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.; Union League of Philadelphia, 140 South Broad Street, Philadelphia
The Class of 1958 is invited for a special luncheon celebration, sponsored by the College of Medicine Alumni Association. Members of the class will be inducted into the Golden Dragon Society and presented with society pins and certificates. Archivist Barbara Williams will present a special program detailing the history of the College of Medicine. |
