Presentations include Alumni Association Awards, Silver Dragon Pins and Special Archives
Reunion Class Dinners
This fun filled opening event is held on the beautiful Queen Lane Medical School Campus. Student Ambassadors will give our returning alumni an insider’s tour of this state-of-the-art medical teaching facility. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served in the sky-lit, botanical atrium followed by an elegant dinner in the Student Activities Center. (Reunion classes will be seated with their classmates). During dinner, Alumni Association Award recipients will be honored for their accomplishments and the members of the Class of 1983 will receive their Silver Dragon pins. While you enjoy dessert our archivist, Barbara Williams, will treat everyone to a special program detailing the origins of both WMC and Hahnemann. The legacy and rich history of each institution is beautifully woven together to tell the story of the oldest, largest, private, medical school in the country. NOTE: Free shuttle service will be provided at all reunion hotels to and from the event, but you must register for this service!

CME Program: Perspectives In Obesity: A National Epidemic

Take advantage of this 3 credit CME program presented by faculty members that addresses the number one health threat facing America. Obesity currently results in an estimated 400,000 deaths annually and costs nearly $122.9 billion, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Future of Medicine at the College of Medicine, Professionalism in Medical Education and Alumni Association Presentation
Richard V. Homan, M.D., Annenberg Dean and Senior Vice President, Health Affairs, will discuss the future of the college, its strategic plan and the ongoing collaboration throughout the University. Barbara Schindler, M.D., WMC’70, Education and Academic Affairs Vice Dean will address the topic of Professionalism in Medical Education. Donald A. Girard, M.D., Alumni Association President will report on the work of the Alumni Association this past year and outline exciting plans for the future.

National Constitution Center Tour - The National Constitution Center, 525 Arch Street, Philadelphia
The National Constitution Center in Historic Philadelphia is America’s most interactive history museum. Located just two blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, it is the only museum devoted to the U.S. Constitution and the story of “We, the people….” Your visit to this groundbreaking new museum begins with a 2:30 PM entrance into the award-winning live presentation of “Freedom Rising”. Your ticket also includes entrance into the latest exhibit, Baseball as America, a national celebration of America’s romance with its national pastime. It is the first major exhibition to examine the relationship between the national pastime and American culture.

Join fellow medical school alumni and classmates at this pre-gala reception. This beautiful gallery and historic venue is right across the street from the Creese Student Center. Complimentary parking conveniently located in the “F” lot at 31st & Ludlow Streets.

University Gala Dinner Dance - Behrakis Grand Hall, Creese Student Center, University City Campus, 32nd & Chestnut Streets
Come and dance the night away with Philadelphia’s hottest 11 piece dance band, Soul Purpose, at the premier event of the weekend! This celebration takes over the entire Student Center. Don’t miss the food, the music, the friends, the fun, and of course the sounds of Soul Purpose. Dress is cocktail attire. Please list any dietary restrictions on the registration form.

Business casual attire is required. Jeans, denim wear, athletic attire, tee shirts, shorts, baseball caps, sneakers or tattered clothes are not permitted.
Enjoy brunch with former and current faculty and staff and learn of the work that is ongoing at the College. Brunch is held in Philadelphia’s jewel of Broad Street, the Union League. Founded in 1862 as a patriotic society to support the policies of President Abraham Lincoln, the Union League has hosted U.S. presidents, heads of state, industrialists, entertainers and visiting dignitaries from around the globe. |
