Status: 1st Year Ph.D. Student

Background and Interests:

I got my B.S. degree in Preventive Medicine at Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China. After graduation, I was accepted to graduate school through recommendation. During my years of graduate study in the Department of Immunology, I have learned a lot and heightened my interest in biomedical research. Our laboratory work focuses on tumor therapy with antibodies, involving chimeric Abs and ScFv to EGFR or TfR conjugated toxin or genes to kill tumors. My research area is the effects of somatostatin receptor 2 (SSTr2) on breast cancer cells. I have solidified my interest in immunology not only because of my research area and research environment in our laboratory, but also because of the challenges in this active research area. By now, I have completed my graduate training with a master’s degree in Immunology and I am confident in undertaking a greater challenge to study for a doctoral degree in biomedical science. I am really interested in the research programs in the areas of parasitic, viral and opportunistic infections within the department of Microbiology & Immunology. While my past studies equipped me with lots of theoretical preparations, I am longing to pursue my Ph.D. at Drexel to gain more profound insights.
