Clinical Trials

|
Our clinical trials team is coordinated by Terry Paylor, RN, CCRC. She has extensive clinical trials experience. The DUCOM department of Neurology currently has approximately 20 clinical trials ongoing for neurological diseases. Our clinical research looks at ways to restore or maintain memory and thinking abilities in patients with CNS diseases.
As part of this, the Memory Program offers clinical trials to qualified subjects. Dr. Lippa's clinical trials experience dates back to the 1980's when she participated in the early clinical trials of Tacrine (Cognex), the first FDA approved Alzheimer's medication. Recently, DUCOM was part of a large NIA-supported national study looking at agents that delay or prevent worsening of symptoms of individuals who are “forgetful.” The goal of the study was to identify agents that prevent conversion of forgetfulness to dementia. |
