David J. Libon, Ph.D. received his Ph.D. in psychology specializing in neuropsychology from the University of Rhode Island in 1985 and obtained training in clinical neuropsychology at the Boston VA Medical Center from 1984-1985.
Dr. Libon will be providing neuropsychological evaluations for Department of Neurology outpatients and inpatients concentrating on patients with dementia, epilepsy, and MS. Dr. Libon has five active research grants investigating a wide range of topics related to dementia.
In the past Dr. Libon has held past positions as Supervising Neuropsychologist at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center, Director of Neuropsychological Services at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and Associate Professor of Psychiatry (Neuropsychology) at UMDNJ-SOM. From 1998 to 1999 Dr. Libon served as Visiting Associate Professor and Interim Graduate Director of the Drexel University's APA approved graduate program in clinical psychology.
The National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) recognized Dr. Libon’s research on vascular dementia by conferring the Nelson Butters Award in 1998. The Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society recognized Dr Libon’s years of mentorship of students and contributions to process analysis of brain-behavior relationships by conferring the Edith Kaplan Award in 2006. Dr. Libon has produced over 100 published peer review papers, presentations, and book chapters.
