The Department of Neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine is extremely strong in three areas of research: 1) motor neuron disease, 2) pain, and 3) dementia. There are multiple clinical trials and basic investigators in each area. The Department of Neurology along with Johns Hopkins is investigating high-dose cyclophosphamide with stem cell rescue in many autoimmune diseases. Pain research within the Department utilizing NMDA antagonists and TNF-alpha blockers is progressing with national and international collaborators.

All graduates pass their boards, almost all take fellowships and approximately seventy-five percent pursue academic careers.

The faculty and residents work hard to achieve our goals but do our best to achieve a collegial atmosphere and make the residency experience fun.
