The Tissue Procurement Facility promotes research by providing tissue that would otherwise be discard to investigators for research purposes

Researchers are provided with the opportunity to receive expert morphologic consultation on diagnostic slides from the pathologic specimens, which have been procured by the TPF. Dr. Fernando Garcia is available to review such slides upon request, particularly in his areas of expertise (urological, breast and ENT neoplasia).

In addition, the Division of Anatomical Pathology at Drexel University College of Medicine includes diagnostic morphologic pathologists, with specialty experience in most organ systems, lung and endocrine neoplasia, liver and gastro-intestinal neoplasia, cardiovascular pathology, placental and neonatal pathology, and neuropathology. All of the members of this division are fully accessible to investigators and Dr. Garcia will refer individual investigators to the appropriate pathologist for consultation.
