Vision 2020
An American Conversation About Women and Leadership
October 21-22, 2010
90 Years and Counting...
In 1920, the 19th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified guaranteeing women the right to vote. This historic achievement was reached after a long political and social struggle led by women. The right to vote carried with it the promise of women’s equality.
As the centennial anniversary of women's suffrage approaches, we begin a national conversation about the evolving aspirations and accomplishments of American women and the opportunities created by political and social changes.
In Philadelphia...
- where a nation began
- where women’s history lives
- where the National Constitution Center awaits visionary women from all over America
Convening...
- Women of Promise
- Leaders of Purpose
...from all 50 states
An Agenda of Action...
Using the lens of leadership, we will examine the changing ideas about gender and equality since 1920, celebrate the progress made by women and develop the unfinished agenda in:
- Politics and Government
- Business, Law and Finance
- Academia
- Medicine, Science and Technology
