Edward G. Longazel, M.H.A., C.H.C. is the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer of the Drexel University College of Medicine. Ed has been serving as the College’s Chief Compliance Officer since inception of the program in April 2000. In October 2002, as a result of new requirements of the federal law, he was also appointed Privacy Officer for the University. Prior to joining Drexel, Ed was a Managing Director for KPMG LLP with its Forensic and Litigation Services practice in Philadelphia. In that role, he provided independent forensic and investigative consulting services to universities and businesses across the country. Ed was the first Director of the Office of Billing Compliance for the University of Pennsylvania Health System, following his role as the Director of Reimbursement for its Clinical Practices. Ed also serves as adjunct faculty at Drexel, teaching Health Administration and Managed Care courses at the undergraduate level. He is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Kimberly has a long and successful prior employment history with a major insurance company before joining the Compliance Office. She manages the calendars for the Chief Compliance Officer and Manager of Compliance Services while coordinating production of all compliance data-base and report activity.

Linda manages the auditing, monitoring and education activity of the program. A Hahnemann nursing program graduate and Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with an MBA, she combines the valuable clinical acumen of a Registered Nurse with the regulatory driven expectations of a professional coder. Her understanding of "both worlds" enables her to design coding and documentation education that is at once practical and effective. Linda comes to Drexel from a large faculty practice plan in the city with a government mandated compliance progam. Her master's level business administration experitse has enabled Drexel Med to build an effective and efficient voluntary compliance program. |
