 Electrophysiology Minimize

When there is a problem with the heart’s electrical system, it is unable to pump blood effectively through the body. That’s where cardiac electrophysiology, the study of the heart’s electrical system, comes in. Drexel University College of Medicine has cardiologists who specialize in electrophysiology and are able to diagnose and treat electrical abnormalities including arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia and supraventricular tachycardia. We are experts in pacemaker and defibrillator evaluation, implantation, lead extraction and follow-up, as well as ablation of arrhythmias. The program participates in many clinical trials of state-of-the-art pacing devices and antiarrhythmic drugs.
