Since each patient’s family history, past medical history and current health status is unique, to propose a standard battery of tests for every patient is very difficult. Thus, we prefer to identify what is necessary during the history and physical examination portion of the evaluation. Decisions regarding ancillary testing such as EKG’s, exercise treadmill testing, colonoscopy and certain laboratory tests (such as PSA, specialized metabolic tests for heart disease risk, thyroid studies, etc.) are based on established medical guidelines for preventive testing, a previous history of such testing and the need to investigate any worrisome symptoms.
Our core examination does include:
Comprehensive history and physical examination (preventive medicine examination) with written report
Complete blood chemistries (complete metabolic panel - 17 individual blood test)
Lipid panel (triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and ratio)
Complete blood count (CBC w/diff)
Urinalysis
EKG
