Hematology and Oncology at Drexel University College of Medicine is dedicated to a personal approach that optimizes the way we care for our patients. Our approach involves a network of close collaborations with all clinical areas related to Hematologic and Oncological care, including Hematopathology, Transfusion Medicine, Surgical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.

We are a designated Center of Excellence for Myelodysplastic Syndrome by the Myelodysplastic Syndrome Foundation, 1 of only 21 centers in the country. Patients are enrolled whenever possible in state-of-the-art treatment protocols offered by these groups and we have access to innovative molecular targeted agents such as antisense to bcl-2, anti-epidermal growth factor receptors, radioimmunotherapy and antiangiogenesis drugs. The Division is involved in single- and multi-institutional therapeutic trials in collaboration with both the National Cancer Institute and pharmaceutical companies, as well as in studies of innovative supportive and ancillary care regimens.

Our practices is a project sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) with the purpose of supporting a national network of physicians and patients to participate in NCI-sponsored phase III cancer treatment clinical trials. In additiona, we participate in the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group, the Central Pennsylvania Oncology Group, and the Cancer Trials Support Unit.

These characteristics provide us with an advantage in serving our patients the best care available. We invite you to explore our site and learn more about us.
