 Acute Stroke Minimize

00001360.jpgStroke is the third leading cause of death and the number one cause of disability in the United States. Recently, clinical research has revealed treatments for acute stroke which significantly decrease the disability from stroke. This has prompted many academic centers to develop stroke programs, including Drexel University College of Medicine™. In addition to treatment, the center offers transcranial Doppler; an ultrasound study of the intracranial arteries and is used to evaluate potential causes of stroke.
