Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Drexel University College of Medicine® in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Through a merger of the Medical College of Pennsylvania™ (MCP) and Hahnemann University™ in 1994, two Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology with rich histories of providing exemplary obstetrical and gynecological care to women in the Philadelphia area joined forces.

The faculty, physicians and staff of the department include highly respected and prominent local Philadelphia obstetricians and gynecologists, working hand-in-hand with nationally and internationally recognized sub-specialists under one roof. This unique combination allows us to offer women the most comprehensive and compassionate obstetrical and gynecological services possible.

In addition to cutting edge general Obstetrical and Gynecologic care, our department provides sub-specialty services including Maternal Fetal Medicine (High Risk Obstetrics), Reproductive Genetics (Prenatal Diagnosis), Fertility and Reproductive Endocrinology, Complex Gynecologic Surgery, Gynecologic Oncology, and Midwifery.

We strive to provide state-of-the-art care in a patient-oriented and caring environment. Patients travel from every corner of the globe to see our physicians who have the world’s most experience in prenatal diagnosis and management of multifetal pregnancies. The Center’s staff provides personalized genetic counseling, obstetrical ultrasound (including 3-D), and skilled prenatal diagnostic techniques. Through our site’s institution, St Christopher’s Hospital for Children, we provide on-site neonatal intensive care by some of the area’s best pediatric sub-specialists and surgeons.

Fertility and reproductive endocrinology including in vitro fertilization and other reproductive technologies, along with general obstetrics and gynecology services are also conveniently provided.

Our obstetrical specialists use the newly renovated labor and delivery room suites of Hahnemann University Hospital, a Tenet hospital affiliate. All patient rooms are private and completely modernized. Since moving back to Hahnemann following a brief hiatus, the University hospital has emphasized the importance and priority of women’s health care. All patients, from the highest risk critically ill mother to those requesting midwifery services can be accommodated.

All of our faculty physicians are directly involved in teaching medical students; residents and fellows, assuring that they are knowledgeable in cutting-edge obstetrics and gynecology research, surgical techniques and patient care. Many of our faculty are active researchers performing investigations funded by the National Institutes of Health, the March of Dimes as well as other major industries in the medical field.

Our physicians have offices conveniently located throughout the Philadelphia and South Jersey areas. Office hours are flexible to fit the schedules of busy women today.
