Eye Exams

It is especially important to make regular eye exams to maintain good health and vision. There are common conditions that you need to be aware of to maintain your vision:
- Presbyopia is a very common vision problem. It is the loss of ability to change focus from far to near.
- Glaucoma can result when excessive fluid pressures damage the optic nerve.The loss of vision does not occur until there is a significant amount of nerve damage. It is one of the leading causes of blindness in the United States. Early detection is key for controlling glaucoma and slowing vision loss.
- Cataracts occur as the lens becomes cloudy, distorting our vision. Cataracts are most often found in persons over the age of 55.This condition often requires a corrective lens change or surgical removal.
- Diabetic retinopathy is one the leading causes of blindness in the United States. If found early, prompt treatment can prevent blindness in most cases.Yearly eye examinations are highly recommended.
There are common health conditions that may affect your vision. Regularly scheduled eye exams are needed to reduce vision impairment that may be related to the following diseases:
- Arthritis
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Lupus
