More than 60 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders. Without a sufficient amount of sleep, your level of alertness and ability to effectively function during the day may be compromised. Insufficient sleep levels can be attributed to many common disorders including:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) – characterized by snoring and brief interruptions of breathing during the sleep cycle.
Insomnia – the inability to fall asleep or stay asleep.
Shift Work Sleep Disorder – typically affects people who frequently rotate job shifts during the night time.
Restless Legs Syndrome – symptoms include unpleasant sensations in the legs and the irresistible urge to move the legs when lying down or sleeping.
Narcolepsy – a chronic, neurological sleep disorder characterized by uncontrollable sleep attacks. |
