 Wound Healing Program Minimize

This multidisciplinary program focuses on patients with non-healing wounds. These individuals have had their wounds for at least 8 weeks and in many cases several years. Approximately 50% are diabetics, 25% have chronic venous disease - the remaining patients have pressure ulcers, vasculitis, or other unusual problems. Most of these patients have been seen by several health care providers and they have been unable to heal the wounds.

Members of our Wound Team include:

  • a physician dedicated to wound healing
  • a podiatrist
  • a wound care nurse
  • plastic surgery
  • vascular surgery
  • visiting nurses
  • physical therapy

Patients are seen by various members of the team. Outcome data in terms of healing rates are monitored. The majority of the patients are followed as outpatients - the program works closely with the patient's visiting nurse in order to provide continuity of care.

We offer regular seminars on wound healing for other health care providers. Feel free to contact us for information on future courses or lectures.

Program Manager: Janet Hibbs
