Dr. Bhavik M. Bhandari provides consultation in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He sees patients in Center City Philadelphia.

Dr. Bhandari is an honors graduate of Rutgers University Cook College and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His postgraduate experience included internal medicine residency training and Chief Resident responsibilities at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He then proceeded to be a Chief Fellow and completed his gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Bhandari's specialization includes performing upper endoscopy and colonoscopy to diagnose and treat disorders of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine and colon. His special interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, colon cancer prevention, and general gastrointestinal disorders. He has a strong focus in improving patient awareness and education.

Research

Dr. Bhandari's research has been centered on improving clinical practice and outcomes in patients with cirrhosis of the liver and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Teaching

Dr. Bhandari is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Drexel University College of Medicine. He also serves as assistant director of the gastroenterology fellowship program.

His academic work has led to publications of patient education material, original research, case reports, a book chapter and abstracts. Dr. Bhandari has made numerous poster and oral presentations at national scientific meetings.
