Dr. Libon provides neuropsychological evaluations for Department of Neurology outpatients and inpatients concentrating on patients with dementia, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. He sees patients in Center City Philadelphia and Darby, PA.

Dr. Libon has five active research grants investigating a wide range of topics related to dementia. He has produced over 100 published peer review papers, presentations, and book chapters.

Research Awards and Honors

  • Nelson Butters Award - conferred by the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) for research on vascular dementia, 1998.
  • Edith Kaplan Award - from the Massachusetts Neuropsychological Society recognizing years of mentorship of students and contributions to process analysis of brain-behavior relationships, 2006.

Teaching

Dr. Libon is an associate professor in the Department of Neurology.

In the past he has held positions as supervising neuropsychologist at the Philadelphia Geriatric Center, director of neuropsychological services at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, and associate professor of psychiatry (neuropsychology) at UMDNJ-SOM. From 1998 to 1999 Dr. Libon served as visiting associate professor and interim graduate director of Drexel University's APA-approved graduate program in clinical psychology.
