Dr. Sass came to Drexel University College of Medicine from the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, which has one of the largest liver transplant programs in the country. He served as hepatology fellowship director, associate director for the GI fellowship program and assistant professor of medicine at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

He has been published in numerous professional journals, including Gastroenterology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Liver Transplantation, Clinics in Liver Disease and Immunogenetics.  He was recently a guest editor for an issue of Medical Clinics of North America, entitled “Care of the Cirrhotic Patient.”
