Patient Care

Dr. David Stein's focus includes the laparoscopic treatment of colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He also has expertise in prevention strategies and identifying risk factors for colorectal cancer in younger patients, as well as outcomes analysis in colorectal surgery. Dr. Stein serves as the director of education and sits on the board of directors of the Susan Cohan Kasdas Foundation, for which he has created many health education programs.

He is board certified in both general surgery and colorectal surgery and is a member of numerous medical societies. Dr. Stein sees patients in Center City Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware.

Dr. Stein joined the faculty of Drexel University College of Medicine in 2003 as an assistant professor and chief of the newly formed Division of Colorectal Surgery. He came to Philadelphia after completing his colorectal surgery training in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Stein is the founder, director and the driving force behind the creation of the Drexel University College of Medicine Mini-Medical School. This unique interactive educational program has taught individuals of all ages and vocations about different topics in healthcare. His medical summer camp has become one of the most sought-after programs in the Philadelphia region, and his Mini-Medical School for Trial Attorneys created a wonderful dialogue between physicians and lawyers.
