Patient Care

Dr. David Vearrier is dual board certified in emergency medicine and medical toxicology. He sees patients in Center City Philadelphia. At Hahnemann University Hospital, Dr. Vearrier serves on the Pharmacology and Therapeutics Committee.

Dr. Vearrier earned his Bachelors of Arts degrees in History and Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, which he attended on a merit-based Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship, the University's most presitigious award to incoming undergraduates. He graduated with High Distinction and completed his thesis on "The History of the Bancroft Library."

Dr. Vearrier was awarded yet a second Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship at the University of California, San Diego, where he attended the School of Medicine and earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Dr. Vearrier completed his residency in emergency medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University College of Medicine. Following residency, he continued his training at Hahnemann and Drexel University College of Medicine, completing his fellowship in medical toxicology. He also holds certification as a Medical Review Officer.

Research

Dr. Vearrier is very active in academic endeavors having published numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, serving as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Medical Toxicology, and acting as assistant editor of an online medical toxicology physician resource, ToxED.

Dr. Vearrier's research interests include the development and validation of bedside tests, occupational and industrial toxicologic exposures and risk assessment, and the determination of impairment.

Teaching

Dr. Vearrier is active in both undergraduate and graduate medical education at Drexel University College of Medicine and Hahnemann University Hospital.
