Janet H. Fitzpatrick, MD, is board certified in internal medicine. She serves as director of the junior inpatient medicine clerkship and as senior internal medicine pathway advisor at Drexel University College of Medicine, and has a special interest in medical student education.

Dr. Fitzpatrick has maintained a busy clinical practice for 22 years. She is dedicated to listening to her patients and developing close physician-patient relationships. This allows her to better understand her patients and deliver quality focused care to meet their needs.

Janet Huang Fitzpatrick, MD, has a special interest in medical student education and serves as the director of the Junior Medicine Clerkship and as director of the Senior Medicine Pathway for career advising. She previously served as a patient note advisor for test material development for the United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 2 Clinical Skills Exam and currently serves as a consult for the National Board of Medical Examiners.

Dr. Fitzpatrick was born and raised in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received her medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in 1995. She completed her internship and residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Internal Medicine and was chief resident in the 1998-1999 academic year. From 1999 through 2004, Dr. Fitzpatrick was in private practice and was volunteer faculty as an assistant professor of medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital. In 2005, she joined the full-time faculty at Drexel University School of Medicine as a clinical associate professor of medicine.

Dr. Fitzpatrick is married with four children; three adult sons and a daughter in high school. In her spare time, she enjoys arts and crafts with her daughter and dog walks with her husband. She holds a black belt in Shotokan karate and serves as an instructor.
