Patient Care

Dr. Komarnicky is chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology and is the radiation oncology residency program director.  She is a prominent specialist in the treatment of breast, lung and eye tumors. She is a member of the board of Susan G. Komen Foundation and has been recognized repeatedly as a "Top Doc" by Philadelphia Magazine.

Dr. Komarnicky has written numerous articles on cancer in peer review journals and a patient education book with Dr. Anne L. Rosenberg, entitled "What to Do If You Get Breast Cancer."

Long active in developing breast cancer awareness programs throughout the Philadelphia region, Dr. Komarnicky has served as a spokesperson for the Linda Creed Breast Cancer Foundation and on various committees of the American Cancer Society. In addition, she served as the medical advisor for the National Women's Health Resource Center's "Learn.Love.Commit." breast cancer awareness campaign.

Dr. Komarnicky is also the cancer liaison physician for Hahnemann University Hospital, and she serves on the hospital's cancer committee.

Dr. Komarnicky is professor and chair of the Department of Radiation Oncology and director of Drexel University College of Medicine’s Cancer Program. Before joining Drexel University College of Medicine, Dr. Komarnicky was associate professor of radiation oncology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and director of the hospital’s residency program. She also served as clinical service chief at Hahnemann University Hospital for five years.
