Dr. Sherin Ghali specializes in internal medicine, primary care and preventive medicine. He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Ghali is the medical director of the Rittenhouse Drexel Medicine Practice at 255 S 17th Street, in Center City Philadelphia.
After his residencies in general surgery, Dr. Ghali joined the clinical research team at Cancer Diagnostics Inc., Rockville, Md., where he was instrumental in developing a tumor marker "TCSF" for early detection of bladder cancer and the "Cyto-Shuttle," a device for isolating cancer cells from body fluids.
In 1996, Ghali completed his second residency in internal medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center, Philadelphia, and joined a private practice at Mercy Health System. He then joined Greater Philadelphia Health Action and became chief of internal medicine at the Woodland Avenue Health Center until he joined Drexel University College of Medicine as a full-time faculty member in 2009.
His special interests are complicated cases in internal medicine, chronic disease management including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidimia, asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, sleep apnea, HIV, and sexually transmitted diseases, as well as preventive care and early cancer detection.
