Chaiken Research Group

We use a combination of chemical and biological approaches to investigate the fundamental nature of protein interactions in solution and in cells, and their roles in disease pathogenesis.  The current focus is to determine the interaction mechanisms of HIV-1 cell entry and to design mechanism-based entry inhibitors for AIDS prevention and treatment.

We currently receive research funding from National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Center for HIV/AIDS Vaccine Immunology, International Partnership for Microbicides and United States Agency for International Development.

We collaborate with research groups in Drexel University and Drexel University College of Medicine, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University, Dana Farber Cancer Institute – Harvard University and Bryn Mawr Collge.

To contact the administrative assistant for the group, please call 215-762-4815.
