Thesis Research Summary:

My research interests are in the fields of immunology and infectious disease. Essentially, I’m fascinated by the complex interactions between a pathogenic organism and its host. I did a B.S. at Guilford College in North Carolina and a M.S. at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Following my bachelors degree I started working at the Wistar Institute in an HIV research laboratory. We studied the effects of structured treatment interruptions on HIV patients undergoing HAART therapy. From there I went to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and worked in a developmental biology lab studying the physiological role of glucagon using a murine model.
