Thesis Research Summary:

Jon is an M.D./Ph.D. student (Microbiology and Immunology program) who joined the Meucci lab at the end of 2008 following his interest in HIV neuropathogenesis; he is a trainee of the NIMH-sponsored T32 “Interdisciplinary Translational Research Training Program in NeuroAIDS”. His current project focuses on the regulation of the protein ferritin heavy chain (FHC) by opiates and its role in neuroAIDS.
