Drexel Adult CF Center will be participating in a phase 3 clinical trial to evaluate effectiveness and safety of an experimental inhaled antibiotic treatment for CF patients whose sputum cultures grow pseudomonas aeruginosa. This trial will consist of 6 study visits over 10 weeks (every 14 days). More information to come.

As many have heard by now, Cayston®, a new inhaled antibiotic treatment for CF patients with pseudomonas aeruginosa, has recently been approved by the FDA. My hat is off to the members of the Drexel Adult CF community who, as early as 2004, dedicated their time and trust to make this happen by participating in related clinical trials performed at our CF center.

Please consider participation in clinical trials a community service and an opportunity to make a difference by bringing knowledge, more and improved therapies to the CF community.
