Department faculty members have performed research dealing with humanistic approaches to patient care, medical ethics, and the application of information technology to the community-based student out-patient experience.

Research by Division:

Activities have focused on developing innovative teaching methodologies in medical ethics, including standardized patient encounters and computer-based learning, and on developing a curriculum in medicine and spirituality.

Medical Informatics – Division research focuses on enhancing the effectiveness of information technology in primary-care settings. Particular interests include mobile wireless applications for care delivery, and the development of software applications in primary-care education.

Biostatistics and Epidemiology – Faculty from the Biostatistics and Epidemiology division provide consulting services to researchers throughout the institution and serve on the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee.
