The Partnership was created in 1993 with the mission to enhance the quality of life for persons with HIV/AIDS by providing comprehensive, integrated HIV care to all individuals regardless of their ability to pay. The cornerstone of our practice is the expert delivery of primary and specialty HIV medical care provided by a team of nurse practitioners and physicians with extensive training in HIV medicine, infectious diseases, primary care and women's health. Other services include specialized gynecological care, prenatal care, family planning services, rapid HIV testing and counseling, secondary prevention education, peer education, support groups, nutritional assessment, case management, pharmacy services, phlebotomy, on-site child care, clinical research studies, plus referrals to dental care, mental health and substance abuse treatment services.

The Partnership has a dedicated panel of consumers and patients on its advisory board, which was created to provide staff with ongoing feedback regarding improvement of services. In order to meet the language needs of patients, the Partnership has bilingual staff including four physicians, office manager, family planning counselor, medical assistant and rapid HIV tester. The Partnership is sensitive to treating patients with diverse sexual orientations and gender expressions as well as a wide diversity of race, ethnicity and religions.

With institutional support and several service grants, the program offers patients a full range of services to meet all of their medical and emotional needs. The Partnership provides primary HIV care as well as specialty care services; patients with an established source of primary health care can be referred to the Partnership by their provider for expert consultative HIV care.
