January 4, 2012 - James E. Barrett, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacology & Physiology, has been selected as the recipient of the 2012 P.B. Dews Lifetime Achievement Award in Behavioral Pharmacology. The award is given by the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET). In selecting Barrett for the honor, ASPET noted his numerous research accomplishments focusing on some of the most important concepts and questions in the field of behavioral pharmacology.

December 29, 2011 - The conclusion of our month-long series of articles for AIDS Awareness Month is about The Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice of Drexel University College of Medicine. It has been providing excellent medical care to adults living with HIV for 18 years. As the largest comprehensive HIV primary care practice in the region, it served more than 1,900 patients last year with primary and specialty HIV medical care.

December 19, 2011 - Every week through the month of December – AIDS Awareness Month – a Drexel University College of Medicine research study will be highlighted to showcase the important contributions our faculty are making to AIDS research. In the United States, more than 1.5 million people are living with HIV, according to a 2010 report issued by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS. That is a sobering number of Americans who will have to endure the long-term effects of life with AIDS.
