Eugene Hong, M.D., professor of family, community and preventive medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine, was recently appointed associate dean for primary care and community health. In this role, Hong will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strategic primary care framework for Drexel University College of Medicine and the Drexel University Physicians practice. He will report to the dean of the College of Medicine and the CEO of the physician practice plan.

The new Drexel Medicine website drexelmedicine.org recently won a "Best in Class" award from the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) Competition. The site – launched in August – won in the "Hospital" category.

Pulse, the beat of the Drexel University College of Medicine community–highlighting research, clinical and education news, special events and noteworthy accomplishments–recently took home a gold award at the 2012 MarCom Awards in the "Employee Publication/Internal Newsletter" category.

As part of its commitment to improve access and quality of healthcare for underserved populations, Drexel University College of Medicine has announced the creation of a new Office of Urban Health Equity, Education and Research. The office will be led by Ana E. Núñez, M.D., professor of medicine and the director of the college's Women's Health Education Program, as well as principal investigator of its National Center of Excellence in Women's Health.
