The Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program is a continuation of the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Certificate program. Entrance into the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program is only permitted with successful completion of the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Upon admission to the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences year, students will be required to declare a concentration track. Awarding of the master of science degree will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of all program requirements, including an earned GPA of no less than 3.0.
Upon reviewing your application, the Office of Professional Studies in the Health Sciences retains the right to place your application under consideration for an alternate program, more suited to your credentials.
Candidates for Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program admission must provide the following credentials:
Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Concentration Tracks
The Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences concentration tracks are designed to focus students in one of five areas of health science:
- Biochemical and pharmacologic principles
- Clinical research, management and laboratory skills
- Concepts in anatomy and pathology
- Laboratory techniques
- Medical sciences
Program Curriculum
During the Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences year, students will complete 24 additional credit hours of graduate course work (for a total minimum of 48 hours in the entire 2 year program), including a final research project and paper. The requirements for this year include:
- Research project and paper
- Biostatistics
- 18 hours from within declared concentration track
