Our Services
State-of-the-art medical care is the cornerstone of the Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice. Medical care is delivered by experienced HIV care providers who are considered to be on the cutting edge of HIV care in the city of Philadelphia. The medical providers includes physicians and nurse practitioners with extensive training in HIV medicine, primary care and women's health issues. All of the physicians are faculty members of the Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine and serve as faculty for the Pennsylvania/Mid Atlantic AIDS Education and Training Center. Our providers are frequently called upon to share their expertise in HIV by teaching/lecturing to other care providers in the city and across the country.
Patients are followed by a specific primary provider who coordinates each individual patient's health care. HIV care is delivered considering guidelines published by the United States Public Health Service, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the International AIDS Society. Partnership providers also manage primary care for other medical conditions. The providers emphasize educating patients about treatment options including involvement in clinical research trials. Providers recognize the unique needs of each individual and appreciate the health and cultural beliefs of each patient. This appreciation forms the basis of the treatment partnership with patients. Providers and patients educate each other, the treatment options are discussed and a recommendation is made. Providers respect the decision patients make about their health care.
Partnership providers work in conjunction with our on-site pharmacist to address patient concerns about their medications. An experienced HIV nutritionist is available to provide dietary counseling and interventions education.
Specialty services are available from HIV-savvy specialists on the faculty of Drexel University College of Medicine. Gynecologic services and laboratory services are available on site, while most other specialist offices, including radiology, are located within two blocks of the Partnership clinic.
Patients are seen for medical care by scheduled appointment with a provider. Walk-ins and emergency referrals for established patients are accommodated whenever possible. Patient hours are generally from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday-Friday, with evening hours on Wednesdays. An after-hours answering service is utilized to provide 24-hour emergency access to medical providers. Patients who require inpatient care are hospitalized at Hahnemann University™ Hospital, where Partnership physicians round daily.
