If you are a healthy woman seeking personalized gynecologic or prenatal care, consider the professional services of our certified nurse-midwives. Although nurse-midwives are best known for their care of women during pregnancy, labor and delivery, they also provide primary health care to women of all ages and life stages. Their highly individualized care focuses on patient education and involvement in all procedures and treatment decisions.
Our nurse-midwifery services include:
- Routine gynecologic care: annual check-ups, pap tests, breast exams, treatment for common vaginal infections
- Low risk prenatal care, including care during labor and birth
- Family planning and birth control
- Menopause care
- Health education to prevent problems and help women develop sound health habits
Nurse-midwives have been a part of Drexel Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1986. If a complication arises, they consult with a supportive team of obstetrician-gynecologists, nurse practitioners and maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Should your condition require a higher level of expertise, your care is seamlessly transferred to the care of our physicians.
