Gynecologic Oncology

Our physicians offer comprehensive, advanced treatment for gynecological cancers of the vagina, cervix, uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes, with an emphasis on minimally invasive and fertility-sparing approaches.

Our faculty have pioneered many ground breaking treatments, including an advanced minimally invasive surgical procedure that removes the ovaries through a single, tiny incision in the belly button. This procedure, known as single port access (SPA) surgery, results in a small scar, hidden in the belly button. Traditional laparoscopic removal of the ovaries requires three to four incisions - one in the belly button, and two to three others on the abdomen. SPA results in less post-operative pain, less blood loss, faster recovery time, fewer complications, and a better cosmetic result.
