Prenatal Care and Obstetrical Services

If there is a baby in your future, you can rely on our Obstetricians and Nurse-Midwives for comprehensive care throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery and after your baby is born.

We are committed to making your pregnancy and birth experience a positive one. We will guide you through pregnancy with advice on nutrition, exercise and help to manage any related conditions that you experience. You and a partner will be encouraged to participate in our prepared childbirth classes so that you’ll know what to expect during the birth and what your options are. If you wish, we can help you develop a birth plan, outlining your ideal choices for the use medication, monitoring and other procedures during labor and delivery.

Your Pregnancy: Advance Planning Is Best

If you are planning a new addition to your family but are not yet pregnant, consider scheduling a pre-conception visit. We’ll help you to identify any avoidable risks to the developing baby during the critical first three months of your pregnancy. This visit is particularly important if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, have a significant health problem or have a history of genetic diseases in your family or your partner’s family.

Your Prenatal Visits: What to Expect

When you discover that you are pregnant, call to schedule an appointment. Usually, your first visit will take place when you are at approximately eight weeks, unless you are having troublesome symptoms, or have had a complicated prior pregnancy.

Typically, your visits will be scheduled every four weeks during the first six months; once every two weeks until 36 weeks, and weekly until you deliver. Here is what you can expect during your visits.
