Thank you for your interest in ELAM. Before starting your application, please be sure you have reviewed our Application Overview page and the following helpful information:

Important Steps for All Applicants, Nominators and Recommenders to Follow

There are several steps in the ELAM application process. Please be sure to complete each of the following:

  1. The applicant must have institutional support. In order to apply, the applicant must be nominated by the Dean of the school or the CEO of the larger organization (e.g., university, health sciences center, teaching hospital). The applicant must check with her Dean/CEO or whoever has decision-making authority for candidate selection and secure approval to apply before she begins. The Dean/CEO should then fill out the Dean/Nominator form, in which s/he will answer nomination questions, describe a mentoring plan and commit to attending the Forum on Emerging Issues during the spring session of ELAM, or appoint an appropriately senior delegate to attend in her/his place.
  2. The applicant must identify two additional senior colleagues to serve as recommenders (one of whom must be her direct supervisor, unless her direct supervisor is her Dean/CEO) and ensure that each recommender will submit answers to the recommendation questions using ELAM’s online recommender form.
  3. The candidate’s application will be evaluated based on the Nominator and Recommenders' responses to the specific questions provided, along with her own application material. To ensure thoughtful answers to the questions, we encourage all applicants, nominators, and recommenders to compose the answers to their questions prior to entering the application forms (using the preview of questions) and to cut and paste their replies into the form online.
  4. The candidate must submit her own application online, including attaching a CV and a peer reviewed published work.
  5. Materials can be submitted in any order, but all materials must be submitted before the application can be considered complete.  The deadline for completing applications is February 1st.  ELAM will send an e-mail to the applicant when all materials have been processed successfully, or if there are issues which need to be resolved. Due to heavy traffic causing slow response time in the last few days of the application period, we encourage applicants to complete their forms early.

If at any time you have questions, please contact us.
