Rosalyn C. Richman, M.A., is director of alumnae relations for the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® (ELAM) Program for Women. She has been with ELAM since its launch in 1994 and was, until 2008, its co-director. She is a former deputy director of the National Center of Leadership in Academic Medicine (CoL), a mentoring pilot program for junior faculty sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Ms. Richman has given invited presentations and workshops on advancing women leaders in academic medicine and higher education at academic health centers at numerous institutions as well as the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the American Association for Higher Education, the National Association for Women in Education, DHHS’ National Forums of the Centers of Excellence in Women's Health, and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) and its International Women's Leadership Conferences. She serves, ex officio, on Drexel Med’s Women in Academic Medicine Committee and the Board of Directors of the Society for Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (SELAM International); and has served on the Advisory Committee of the F. Marian Bishop Charitable Trust Leadership Fellowship Program; the AAMC Women in Medicine Coordinating Committee; and the ADEA Women's Affairs Advisory Committee. She serves as an ad hoc reviewer for Academic Medicine. Previously, she was executive assistant to the president of Hahnemann University, a predecessor of Drexel Med, working with key internal constituencies and external professional, civic and community groups. Prior to coming to Hahnemann, Ms. Richman was with the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America for more than 20 years, in program development and implementation, leadership training, major fund-raising campaigns, communications and public relations.
Ms. Richman earned a B.A. in English literature, magna cum laude, from Carnegie Mellon University and an M.A., also in English, from Temple University. She was nominated and selected for the HERS/Bryn Mawr Summer Institute for Women in Higher Education Administration. She has received awards from Drexel University College of Medicine and from SELAM International.
