SURGICAL IMMERSION PROGRAM

A Physician's Refresher

The Surgical Immersion Program works closely with Drexel University College of Medicine Physician Refresher Course and incorporates all of the same high standards into a specific surgical curriculum. 

A few highlights of the 6 week program: 

• Observe alongside a surgery team, attending patient rounds and going into the OR where you will observe up-to-date medical care, surgical techniques and new technology used in the United States.  
• Have the opportunity to attend grand rounds, noon conferences and lectures with Drexel fellows, residents and students.
• Be assigned a faculty preceptor for patient rounds, regular discussions, instruction and feedback. 
• Practice the newest surgical techniques with state-of-the-art surgical simulators and become proficient with the newest and most inovative equipment and techniques used today.
• Have the opportunity to care for virtual on-line patients (DxR).

• An international medical graduate who wishes to be accepted into a U.S. surgical education training program.
• A physician who wishes to return to an active surgical practice after an extended leave.
• A physician who wishes to enhance surgical skills.
