Women's Health Competencies

Women’s Health Competencies

• NAWHME Guide - Women's Health in the Curriculum is a concise, practical resource for faculty who are developing a women's health curriculum or integrating women's health issues into an existing program.  Originally printed in 1996, it was a collaborative effort of the participants of the National Academy on Women’s Health Medical Education, which was co-sponsored by MCP Hahnemann University and the American Medical Women’s Association. Containing over 200 pages of information, it outlined successful strategies used by faculty leaders to integrate gender-based information into all curriculum levels. The guide was considered “required reading” for faculty seeking to update and broaden the scope of their medical education program to reflect current knowledge. The guide was quite popular, and copies had subsequently sold out. The link above prompts to a portion of the guide that has been made available on-line for viewing and downloading, containing “hands-on” information based on the experiences of successful program planners.
