1. Ensure that your institution will support your application to ELAM. In order to apply, you must be nominated by the Dean of your school or the CEO of the larger organization (e.g., university, health sciences center, teaching hospital). Check with your Dean/CEO or whoever has decision-making authority for candidate selection and secure approval for your application before you begin.
2. Identify your recommenders, one of whom must be your direct supervisor, and ensure that they will submit a letter of support. If your direct supervisor is your Dean/CEO, then you will need to secure recommendations from two other people in addition to your Dean/CEO, one of whom, preferably, is senior to you. (See FAQs for answers to other application questions).
3. Provide your Dean/CEO and recommenders with the address of the ELAM web site and ask them to submit their letters of support online, being sure to answer the specific questions asked. Your application will be evaluated based on their responses to these questions. Letters of support may be submitted prior to your completing your application and will be kept on file.
4. Submit your application online, including all attachments. Submission triggers the application notification process. You will receive notifications from ELAM when the following events occur:
