 SCHEDULE AND COSTS

ELAM's program fee is $10,915, which covers 23 days in session, course materials, faculty, conference site expenses, continuing education fees, special events, first-year membership in SELAM International, and most meals for the fellows.  (ELAM's endowment covers 20% of program costs.)

Additional Costs

In addition to the program fee, the Fellow or her institution is responsible for travel and lodging during the sessions (approximately $265/day for lodging for each of the sessions). 

Costs related to attending the AAMC Annual Meeting, including registration and special event fees (approximately $550), are also the responsibility of the fellow or her institution.

Travel and lodging for deans attending the Forum on Emerging Issues is the responsibility of the sponsoring institution. Meeting materials and meals are provided for Forum participants.

2008-2009 Program Schedule

Summer 2008: Complete initial assignments, including self-assessments, pre-session readings,and online assignments.

Sept 12-Sept 18, 2008:(Arrive September 11) Attend Session I (in Lafayette Hill, PA)

Oct 30- Nov 4, 2008: (Arrive October 29) Attend Session II and selected events and sessions at the AAMC annual meeting (in San Antonio, TX)

Virtual Session 2008-09: Work on group and independent projects.

April 17-23, 2009: (Arrive April 16) Attend Session III (Lafayette Hill, PA) including the Forum on Emerging Issues April 22-23 with Deans.

2009-2010 Program Schedule 

Summer 2009: Complete initial assignments, including self-assessments, pre-session readings,and online assignments.

Sept 11-Sept 18, 2009: Attend Session I (in Lafayette Hill, PA)

Nov 4 - Nov 10, 2009: Attend Session II and selected events and sessions at the AAMC annual meeting (in Boston, MA)

Virtual Session 2009-10: Work on group and independent projects.

April 23 - April 29, 2010: Attend Session III (Lafayette Hill, PA) including the Forum on Emerging Issues with Deans.

ELAM is a core program of the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa. The Institute continues the legacy of advancing women in medicine that began in 1850 with the founding of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania, the nation's first women's medical school and a predecessor of today's Drexel University College of Medicine.
