 Curriculum Minimize

The Mini-Med Spring Break™ curriculum is a clinically-based experience designed to expose the participant to daily life and realistic pressures of a medical student. Time will be divided between two medical specialities providing a glimpse into various teaching styles and learning demands.

Mini-Med Spring Break™ SAMPLE DAY

7:00 to 10:00 Hospital Rounds: You will observe physician interaction with in-house hospital patients and be part of the case discussions between the treating physicians, residents and medical students.

10:00 to 12:00 Operating Room: Can you take it? Be inside the OR and understand what a medical student sees and experiences, even if surgery is not their life's ambitions.

1:00 to 4:00 Clinic Hours: See patients along with the practicing physician during office hours.

*Experience one or more of these specialties:

  • Surgery
    Observe in the OR
  • Emergency Medicine
Experience life in a real ER
  • Pulmonary and Critical Care
Understand the pace of a critical-care unit
  • Internal Medicine
Is it really routine medical care?
  • Pathology
View a biopsy under a microscope or observe an autopsy
  • Neurology

*Curriculum is subject to change.  All participants must be HIPAA compliant and are subject to medical and other screening requirements

Daily activities will take place at Hahnemann University Hospital and in the physicians' medical practices.
