Mini-Med I is an eight-week medical education program open to anyone in the community interested in the latest medical advances and interested in learning how they can better understand their own care. Each lecture is taught by a Drexel University College of Medicine physician. The eight classes include lively lectures on various medical topics, followed by a “get your hands dirty” (but not too dirty) laboratory experience.
Mini-Med I provides "Mini-Medical Students" information on some of the same subjects studied by "real" medical students. In addition, this is your chance to ask questions you've always wanted to ask. Open discussion, dialogue and lively debate between students and faculty will be an integral part of each session.
Drexel University College of Medicine is the first medical school in the Philadelphia region to offer this type of program to the community. Mini-Med I meets every spring, one night a week for eight weeks. Classes are held on the medical school campus which is on Queen Lane in the East Falls area of Philadelphia .
