For the Community
Current Projects
WHEP is working on many projects related to women’s health and issues that affect women. Among those are:
- An NIH-sponsored curricula program focused in educating medical students and health professionals in training about health disparities related to heart, lung and blood
- A video to make healthy food choices by accurately reading food labels
- A teen dating violence prevention project using medical student as health educators
- Philadelphia Ujima, a DHHS/OWH funded project whose mission is to improve the health of Philadelphians using a gender focused approach to health education and promotion, through a network of community partners and educators
- Advocacy in Action workshops, a program designed to expand the multidisciplinary approach to women's health education programs, by teaching underserved populations about modifiable health risks and awareness of health promotion
- The Incarcerated Women's Health Education Project is designed to address the unique health needs of the growing population of women with histories of incarceration who reenter the community
- Intimate Partner Violence workshops are designed to raise awareness about intimate partner violence on college campuses through peer educators
Past Projects

If you are coordinating a health fair and would like WHEP to participate, please click on the following link to email WHEP’s research manager Candace Robertson, MPH, croberts@drexelmed.edu. Be sure to include:
- The name of your organization
- Your name and contact information (address, email address, phone, fax, mobile)
- Date, location with address, phone number of location, time of your health fair
- Please specify the expected size of the audience expected at the health fair, age range, and if there is a theme to the health fair
