Program Director: Raymond C. Talucci, M.D.
Program Coordinator: Daria Arcaro

Overview of the Fellowship Program

The program rotates the Fellow through the critical care of general and vascular surgery, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, solid organ transplantation, burn surgery, pediatric surgery, and anesthesia. Rotations in medical and pulmonary critical care as well as toxicology are available. The core faculty includes five surgeons with added qualifications in surgical critical care in additional to other highly qualified surgical, anesthesia, pediatric and medical intensivists. The four-hospital alliance provides over 80 critical care beds and exposure to the breadth of critical care across multiple disciplines. Additional exposure to community-based multi-specialty critical care is available at the Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia in conjunction with the Department of Emergency Medicine.

A well-structured core curriculum complements the clinical exposure. Several clinical trials are supported between the facilities, and participation in research and surgical scholarship is encouraged.
