Drexel ranked one of the best national doctoral universities by U.S. News & World Report – August 25, 2004.
Drexel has again been ranked as one of the best national doctoral universities by U.S.News & World Report. In the 2005 rankings released August 20, the University placed 106th, advancing from the 123rd position in 2004. Surpassing 13 institutions that were ranked higher than Drexel in 2004, the University is now 55th among the nation's private doctoral universities.
Drexel and Penn are the only Philadelphia universities ranked among the top schools. Together with Penn, Drexel joins Carnegie Mellon, Lehigh, Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh as the only institutions in Pennsylvania ranked in the best national doctoral universities category.
The publication ranked Drexel's College of Engineering 's undergraduate program 50th among engineering schools that award doctoral degrees. LeBow College of Business is ranked 120th in undergraduate business programs. And the University's co-op program was again ranked among the nation's best.

- Drexel online programs are ranked among the best online graduate degrees in business, engineering, and library science.
- The School of Education graduate program is 18th among national private universities.
- The College of Engineering graduate program is 61st in the nation overall.
The Intel Corporation ranked Drexel number 22 out of 100 in the country on its "Most Unwired College Campuses" survey.
In October 2004, Financial Times ranked LeBow College of Business' Executive MBA program 25th in the United States and 47th in the world.
Entrepreneur Magazine ranked the LeBow College of Business entrepreneurial program among the nation's top 25 in entrepreneurial emphasis.
PC Magazine selected The Math Forum@Drexel as one of the "Top 101 Most Incredibly Useful Sites" in its October 14, 2003 edition.

The C.R. and Annette Pennoni Honors College received the 2002 Presidential Leadership Award from the National Collegiate Honors Council for having one of the nation's best honors colleges.
With 17,500 students, Drexel was 18th in enrollment among the nation's private universities, according to data for the academic year 2001-02 from the National Center for Educational Statistics.
Drexel has more than 5,600 employees, making the University Philadelphia's sixth-largest private sector employers.
Drexel's undergraduate engineering program is the nation's largest among private universities.
